Our City Farm Boonsboro
Six years ago, we made significant life changes, including relocating to a rural area. This move brought us great excitement as we aimed to raise our three children in a harmonious blended family setting. Alongside this, my husband and I embraced a commitment to farming, not only sustaining ourselves but also giving back to the community through simple yet meaningful gestures. Our venture, Greener Pastures Family Farm, proved to be a remarkable experience. The property, featuring accommodations such as a tiny house, bell tent, barn, cottage, and farmhouse, welcomed hundreds of guests and filled my heart with immense joy. Presently, my son and I have happily transitioned to a smaller urban farm property in Boonsboro, Maryland. While we no longer have space for larger farm animals, we now take pleasure in beekeeping and raising chickens. In addition to tending to the farm, I stay active with golf, paddle boarding, and managing my businesses: www.interioreditdc.biz, Tuffet Enterprises Commercial Appraisal Services, and short-term rentals. Our focus for the upcoming years at City Farm Boonsboro is renovating the outdoor areas, historic barn, and other outbuildings. One of the chicken coops has already been repurposed into a spacious Cat Den for our beloved barn cats, with a warm welcoming atmosphere extended to the freely roaming neighborhood cats in need. The second chicken coop has been revamped to accommodate our small group of hens.

Our Commitments
At the conclusion of my teaching career, I embraced new opportunities to make a positive impact on society. The foundation of this urban farm is built on hard work, perseverance, and the alignment of personal achievements with fulfilling community needs. These elements should complement each other. Consequently, we engage in volunteering with local animal organizations, actively participate in assisting the elderly residents of a rural mountain lake community, and collaborate with domestic violence agencies in our vicinity to promote awareness and organize fundraising and donation efforts. Animals seek refuge with us to savor a slice of a secure environment in the middle of our quaint town. We delight in the nightly presence of a herd of deer, observe Maryland's native birds from our porches, and safeguard the rabbit families residing at City Farm Boonsboro. Our farm cats, hens, and bees reside contentedly amidst the lush greenery of their abode. Truly Greener Pastures living for us all.
